Our collection includes rare objects that date back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries as well as philological copies of antique and untraceable instruments dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries, some of which are well-known and others that are less well-known and sophisticated, but that all demonstrate how human imagination knows no limits when looking for ways of inflicting the most abominable tortures and forgetting any respect for humanity. It is a reference point for historians and aims to give visibility regarding the various methods that were employed for medieval torture.
